3 Reasons Why You Might Choose Perforated Pipes Over Slotted
1. Significantly Increased Structural Integrity: The circular holes in perforated pipes maintain the pipe’s structural integrity far greater than the elongated slots in slotted pipes, especially when there is high external compressive loads or the potential of higher torque required during installation.
2. Higher Flow Rates: In most cases, achieving the same open area with holes verse slots will decrease friction loss enabling higher flow rates.
3. Clogging Resistance: Perforated pipes may be less prone to clogging than slotted pipes, as the round holes can help reduce the accumulation of debris and allow for easier maintenance. Together with this, with slotted pipes, the slots tend to close up when under external ground or packing loads.
